Don examines the elk bust that he has just cast, cleaned, welded together and added detail to. Bronze casting is complex, time consuming and expensive. It takes multiple days to complete a single piece. Bronze casting is “such a labor intense operation. The actual metal, the material is not that great, but you put so many hours into it, that’s what runs the cost up,” Don says. This elk bust will sell for $585.
