Plains is the third town
that photojournalism students documented as part of the Montana Town Project.
In 2008 professors Jeremy Lurgio and Keith Graham hatched the idea for this project while traveling through some of Montana's tiniest towns. Each fall photojournalism students cover stories from a small town in Montana. Students collaborate to find, develop and produce unique stories about that town.
We hope this real-world classroom experience pushes students to explore the depth of a community while challenging their visual and written story-telling skills.
Our goal – to accurately portray the people, places and stories we encounter. Montana is an amazing place to live and we hope that each project will uncover another layer of our culture and history.
We hope you enjoy the latest installment of the project. We welcome your comments at montanatownproject@gmail.com
